32 Week Appointment

I haven't been able to update lately because our computer crashed last week. Not fun! We'll hopefully have a new one next week. I'm borrowing my Dad's laptop at the moment.
I went to the doctor Monday for our 32 week check-up. My doctor said Sage is right on target for growth! She should weigh about 2 1/2 to 3 lbs and stretch out at 18 inches or so. We've gained 7 lbs all together with 8 weeks left to go! She ran away from the doppler again and punched the nurse. It took us a good 5 minutes to chase her down and get her heartbeat. Once we found it, it sounded nice and clear. She's just a stinker! We start our visits at every 2 weeks now until she comes!
Today she's head down and feet up for the first time in a while. It's been SO nice! She's been stuck transverse for a few weeks and that makes it difficult to do simple things like shave legs or reach my feet. As soon as I realized she was up and down, I jumped in the shower and have enjoyed myself today! She doesn't kick as much in this position (or I don't notice it as much) but she has had the hiccups twice today and punched quite a few times!
I keep asking my doctor if he can give me a pill to stay this way. It's really OK with my just to keep her right here with me all the time. I'm perfectly OK with that! (Heartburn and all!) My doctor just laughs, but Dustin says "No Way!" He says it's his turn to hold her. I think he's getting more and more anxious to meet his little girl!

30 Weeks

We're at 30 weeks today! Baby Sage is getting SO big and I'm thinking it's getting pretty crowded in there! She's still kicking and having a great time, but I'm noticing she's unable to flip over as easily as she was before. She pushes SO hard again my sides to turn and twist and it's very easy to spot a foot or a knee now.
My belly shape has changed, even if you can't really see it from the side. It has gotten much wider and extends from the bottom of my ribs to the top of my hips. I can no longer easily reach my toes (I desperately need a pedicure!) and getting up off the floor isn't graceful at all! Sometimes I forget to compensate for the little bulge and end up squishing her! I felt so bad when I shoved her knees into her face the other day trying to reach something on the floor from the sitting position! I've also discovered that I need to use the handicap stall in public bathrooms if possible because the door in a regular stall bumps my belly on the way out! I use my wonderful Boppy Pillow at night to rest it on so I can sleep. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour to get settled and get her shifted into a comfortable position before I can fall asleep, no matter how tired I am.
I laid on the couch with my sister this weekend head to toe. I turned and rested my belly on her calve and Sage just punched and pushed against her leg! Aunt Jen Jen thought that was pretty neat. I think we freaked her out a little yesterday though when she saw her kick me and my entire belly shook!
Baby Sage is getting so big. It's really hard to think we only have 10 weeks left. I absolutely love having her with me everywhere I go. I love keeping her safe and sound where she can't fall down and scrape a knee and no one can hurt her feelings. I like knowing she has everything she needs to be healthy and that I can play with her any time she's awake. Dustin, however is getting anxious for his turn. I know he's missed out on a lot, from kicks to the daily hiccups. As much as I love this little girl and having her with me all the time, I'm anxious for her to meet her Daddy! I know he's ready to meet her too!

Father's Day!

Today is Father's Day! We spent the morning at church and Dustin was given a Chocolate Kiss from the kids in the church because he's considered a Dad this year! We were in Beaumont yesterday and found the cutest onsies for Sage! Dustin's holding his favorite in this picture. (The back has a little heart on the bottom and says "and Daddy loves me!") Sage definitely knows her Daddy's voice! She wiggles, twists and kicks when he talks to her. She's going to be a Daddy's Girl!

Rockin' and Rollin'

Well, Baby is getting SO big! She's sitting transverse across my abdomen today stretching out into both of my sides at the same time. I can feel from the tips of her toes to the top of her head! She's a little over the length of my forearm and happily kicks or punches anything that invades her space. She really dislikes waistbands and seatbelts. (She got after Aunt Prissy's hand yesterday!) Her kicks have become less intense than in the last few months, but I think that's because she lacks the room to really pull back and kick me hard. Bless her heart, I think it's getting crowded in there! She loves to roll and wiggle and several times I catch a shoulder or a knee. Sometimes she gets herself wedged in there diagonally with her head near my hip and her feet under the opposite side's ribs. Sometimes she'll spend a day or two in that position and it gets pretty sore, not to mention it looks funny! My tummy's gets all mis-shapen and it isn't flattering. When she's transverse I feel wide, but light. When she's up and down, she seems heavier, but I get to sport a nice rounded baby belly. It's truly amazing how active she is!
Last night I was putting batteries an electronic car toy we received as a gift from a friend at church. It has a mirror on it with a caterpillar that lights up and plays music and says colors in English, French, and Spanish. It's really neat! It has a remote so I can control it from the front seat. Well, I was trying to figure it out and the music started playing. Sage LOVED it! She started kicking and wiggling and my entire belly was visibly bouncing! I think she's going to be a little musician, or at least appreciate music. We're definitely getting anxious to meet her, but there are also so many things we want to share with her. Until then, we'll indulge her music interest and continue to play with her every day!

28 Weeks

Baby Sage is getting SO big and is making herself very at home! We're at 28 weeks, or 7 months, now and officially in the 3rd trimester. This "little" girl should weigh almost 2 1/2 pounds and measure about 16 inches in length according to a regular growth chart. It's getting crowded in here!
She is wiggling and kicking ALL the time and just never seems to get tired. She has discovered my lower ribs and got her feet stuck under the right side last Sunday. She loves to kick during church and I know I was making faces at the choir because sometimes those little feet can hurt! The favorite nurse at my OB's office said an active baby is a healthy baby, so I think she's a definitely athlete!
I will admit I'm getting a little uncomfortable at times, but love to feel her every move. It's usually extremely evident right where she is and family members can easily pick out little body parts just from looking at my stomach. I talk to her all day and squeeze or rub her different parts and tell her how I'm going to dress them. "Socks go here! Diaper goes here! Hat goes here!" It's fun to think about dressing her up, but a part of me really likes her right where she is! (Remind me I said that a few pounds from now...)
We've woken up the last 3 morning with the hiccups. They're my favorite thing to wake up to! Mama always said hiccups meant you were growing. That's definite for this little girl!
One of the coolest things is watching her with Dustin. She definitely hears him now. He will talk to her when he gets home for the evening and she kicks and rolls in response. It's a different movement than her little kicks and wiggles during the day when it's just the two of us, so I know she's hearing her Daddy! I can't wait for them to meet! Just 12 more weeks and they'll be face to face!

Worn Out!

Well, this Wednesday, my family all got together to put up 6 rows of corn from the family garden. Everyone has a job. Picking, shucking, cutting, pulling silks, washing, scraping, and cooking. Ever since I was little, I always got stuck pulling silks, my least favorite job! I got to move up to the big-girl job this year and scrape! I was SO happy! We put up tons of corn and will enjoy it all year long. It's a fun family day too!
However, I've discovered this 3rd trimester stuff is nothing to mess around with! About 1pm after a full morning of scraping, I was DOG TIRED! I tried sitting in a rocker with my feet up and scraping with a bowl balanced in my lap (shared with my baby belly) but just couldn't keep up! I finally gave in and took a nap! I felt bad, but this baby growing business is obviously a little harder on the body than I anticipated!
As excited as I am about this baby girl, I will admit that it was convenient to just have her tucked away so we could all work. Next year we'll all have to take turns passing her around between us so we can get the corn done! By the next year, she'll be big enough to help!!!
