Five Months Old

Sage is 5 months old today! I cannot get over how fast time has flown by and how quickly my tiny baby is becoming a sweet little girl! She's growing and changing so much and we're having a blast!
At five months she can easily roll all over the place. She's pushing up on all fours and wiggling, but not yet crawling. She's reaching and grabbing anything and everything in sight. She maintaining the sitting position for several minutes at a time and loves to stand up while being held. She "drinks" water from a sippy cup, but usually spits it back out. (She's partial to milk!) She says "Hi" and "Hey" (Hi to Mommy and Hey to Daddy) when she greets us, especially after a nap. She likes to throw toys from her high chair and watch us pick them up. She laughs at EVERYTHING and smiles non-stop!
We are so blessed to have a happy and healthy baby girl. She's amazing and these past 5 months have been a blast!

I have feet!

Sage LOVES her feet! She use to only play with them in the bath tub. My sister-in-law, Elizabeth, let us borrow Cousin Rylan's socks around Christmas. They have these cute teddy bears on them and Sage loves them. Ever since she wore them, she likes to play with her feet and toes. It's really cute!

Sitting Sage

Sage has started to sit! We sit her up and she balances herself with her arms out in front. She's not yet pulling herself into the sitting position, but maintains it for several minutes before toppling over. She REALLY likes this position and I'm sure as soon as she figures out how to get into it all by herself, she'll be sitting all the time!

Sage & Dandi

Sage and our puppy, Dandi, are becoming fast friends. Dandi has always been curious about Baby Sage, but once she started reaching out for her, Dandi kept her distance. Sage continued to grin and reach for her every time she was in sight. Well, it didn't take Dandi long to figure out Sage was gentle and would play with her!

Dandi jumped up on the couch and rolled over, asking Sage to pet her.

Those whiskers tickle! (See my big girl sitting up?)

Back in the Saddle

After 9 months of pregnancy and 4 months of C-Section recovery, it has been over a year since I've ridden my mule, Gus. Sunday afternoon was gorgeous and Mom and I couldn't resist a short ride.
It was really awesome to introduce Sage and Gus. She just pat his nose and he sniffed her and nuzzled us. After a year in the pasture, he loved all the attention.

We're both terribly out of shape, so I look forward to riding him more and more and getting some muscle back.
I can't wait until Sage can "horse around" with us, or at least sit up and go for a little ride!

Hard at Work, Hard at Play

Sage is really getting the hang of rolling and scooting to where she wants to be! When working from home, I sometimes set up on the floor so I can be next to Sage as she plays. Sometimes she wants to play with Mommy's toys! Dustin caught her off her pallet and headed towards the computer. Of course, her picture is the desktop background, so she was smiling and talking to a picture of herself. It was really cute.

After a hard day of work with Mommy, Sage likes to snuggle on the couch. She was sitting next to me playing with her pacifier and the next thing I knew, she was snoozing! Sage has as tough a time keeping up with Mommy at work as Mommy does keeping up with her at play!

4 month Check-Up

On Tuesday, January 13th, I took Baby Sage to Nacogdoches for her four month check up. She's doing great! She weighs 15 lbs 6 oz and is 26.5 inches long. That means that she's gained almost 9 lbs and has grown half a foot since she was born just 4 months ago. Amazing! She's growing like a weed and everything looks great! This is the first time we haven't needed to increase her reflux medication since she was diagnosed, so I'm excited that she might be off the medication before she turns a year old.

Sage really showed off for the pediatrician by standing up for her, rolling around on the table and then gathering all the paper sheet on the table, crumpling it into a ball and drooling all over it. It was really funny! She's just not a shy baby and makes her own fun no matter where we go.

My baby girl is getting so big!

Busy Baby

I've been a bit behind on blogging lately! I've been swamped with preparations for a big Youth Weekend called Disciple Now. Sage has been an awesome trooper! She's done everything from playing on the floor at the church while I worked, helped me organize everything from T-Shirts to name tags, and hung out with 100 teenagers all weekend.

She spent a lot of time this weekend with her Daddy and they had a great time.

Our efforts were truly blessed and I'm so glad to have been a part of this, but after an incredible weekend I'm happy to be able to again focus on my baby girl.

Family Fun

On Thursday, my Aunt Jenny and my cousin Jessica came for a visit with her kiddos, Frank and Chloe. It was a beautiful, warm day and we had a blast playing at my mom's house. We took a nice long walk and Sage loved to watch Chloe and Frank play in the leaves.

However, her 5 o'clock nap took over and we realized she had crashed on us! It was so cute! We are so blessed to spend time with our wonderful family!

My Mom and her Sister, Jenny, love being Grandmas!

Teething?

We are pretty sure Baby Sage has begun to teeth! It's just the early stages, but she's not having too much fun with it. She goes through little drooling spells and just doesn't feel good. She gums on her teethers and pouts. Poor thing!

I'm trying to enjoy every gummy smile I can because I know it's just a matter of time before a little tooth makes its appearance. Until them, happy teething Baby Sage!

See What I Can Do?

Oh the things my big girl likes to do!
Sage LOVES to stand! She's also very good at it. It's definitely her favorite position to be in and she's constantly pushing up to get into the standing position. She gets the cutest look on her face, like she's thinking "Look Everyone! I can stand up!"

We've also started letting her drink water from a sippy cup. She's always asking for a drink from my glass, so we decided to go ahead and let her have her own cups! She really likes them. She doesn't drink much of the water, but really enjoys being able to hold her own cup. I can't get over how quickly my baby girl is becoming a little person!

Happy Birthday Sogno!

Our puppy, Sogno, celebrated her 5th Birthday on January 2nd. Sogno has been with Dustin and I since we got married. She's endured several moves and helped us welcome Baby Sage into our lives. Sogno is so gentle with Sage and is always checking on the baby. It's been so fun to raise a baby with sweet puppies in the house to keep her entertained. Sogno's very special to us and we're happy she and Sage get along so well!

Four Months Old

It's New Year's Eve and Sage is 4 months old today! I cannot believe she's 1/3 of a year old already. She's changed so much in the past few weeks it's amazing! She has learned to do lots of things. She can roll all the way over and has figured out how to wiggle her way around on the floor to get where she wants. She reaches for things when she wants them and easily takes things and holds them with her own hands. She drinks water out of cups and can hold her own bottle. She loves to laugh and smile and is just an all around happy baby.
Our Baby Girl is so very special to us and we are so blessed to have spent these past few months watching her grow!
