Fun with Cousin Rylan

We had an absolute blast when my brother's family came to visit this summer. Adam, Elizabeth and Rylan stayed with my parents for 6 weeks this summer while Adam was on a break from DO school.
Its so cool to have a playmate for Sage built right into the family!

They were always crawling off together and into mischief.
They had an absolute blast together and I know they will enjoy each other's company for many years to come!

Ten Months Old

Sage is 10 months old today! The year is passing so quickly and every day she becomes more of a little girl than a baby.

She has suddenly become very very vocal. It was like a switch came on and she realized she can make sounds. She talks and sings all day long no matter what she is doing and Dustin and I have even heard her talking in her sleep. It's like nonsense narration! She is definitely a little social butterfly and rarely meets a stranger. She is saying a few new words like dog, cat, and uh-oh. When she remembers, she uses the word "up" to requesting getting out of her highchair, playpen or into your arms.

My favorite word she has learned is "nassy" which mostly comes out " shew". We have told her not to play in the toilet or eat dog food because it's "nassy" so now she when she gets caught doing something she shouldn't, she crinkles her nose and says "sssshew". So cute!

Her favorite food is definitely Mango which I give her almost daily. She loves fruits and likes most vegetables except for broccoli. She prefers things thinly puréed or finger foods, but is quickly learning to eat with a spoon.
She has also started to use the potty a few times a day. We simply integrated that into our daily routine and she is doing great!

She is easily standing on her own and seems to have very good balance. She glides around with one hand on the couch or other furniture or when Dustin or I hold her hands, so she simply lacks the confidence to take an independent step. She doesn't like to fall, so I'm sure she will wait until she is good and steady to march around on her own. (Which is fine by me! I'm already chasing her everywhere!)

Sage is definitely an explorer and is into EVERYTHING! It is literally like living with the Tasmanian Devil. (She sometimes sounds like him too!) Dustin and I are doing our best to keep up and have learned to look for misplaced items in the oddest places. Needless to say she is very comfortable in our home and we are having a blast with her.

Every day I am blessed to watch God reveal more and more of this little person He has created. I sit in awe of everything she has become and everything she will be. Sage has been an incredible blessing to me over the past 10 months and I look forward to getting to know her better and better as we both grow into the amazing roles God has planned for us.
