Playing with the Puppies

Now that Sage is crawling, she's really interacting with the dogs. Dandi still pretty much tucks tail and runs when Sage heads her way, (too many tugs on the ears!) but Sogno loves that Sage is mobile! She actually places herself in Sage's path and will nose a toy at her trying to entice her to play.
Sogno is very protective of Baby Sage and is always checking on her. She gets upset when I close the door to the nursery while Sage is napping in her crib. She wants to check on her baby!

Crawling!

Sage has been crawling for a couple of weeks now and is into everything!
I finally got a minute to video her and upload it before resuming chasing her around and baby proofing!
I can't believe my baby can crawl!

A Day with PawPaw

Sage absolutely adores her PawPaw! It's hilarious because when he walks in the room, she just focuses on him and no one else. Well, today we went over to see what he was up to and help him out.

Getting ready to plant the garden.

PawPaw has fun tractors! Ready to go!

Free Toes

Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm extremely cold natured and am freezing most of the time. I married a complete opposite, so Dustin and I constantly "battle" over the thermostat because he's so hot natured and burning up while I'm shivering. We have two dogs, one that likes the heat, one that likes the cold, so it's really and even tie at our house. (Except for when I throw in the fact that our tropical bird, Molly, is fluffed up and cold, then we out-number the hotties and get to turn on the heat!)
Well, along comes Sage, who is every bit at hot natured as her Daddy. We have had a few warmer days, so on our walk the other day, we let her go barefoot in the stroller to wiggle her toes. I'm kind of a stickler about socks and shoes because I don't want her little toes to get hung on anything or to get too cold, so free toes is a treat for her. I imagine this summer she'll have a lot of barefoot time with her Daddy around the house while I'm still in my fuzzy socks!

Daddy-Daughter Fun

Sage loves her Daddy! I've been out of commission for floor time since my back surgery, so Dustin has really made it a point to spend a lot of time playing with Sage in the evenings after work. She absolutely adores him and has a blast.

He is such a good Daddy!

Fun with Family

Some of our favorite days are when my cousin Jessica comes for a visit and we can spend time with her and her family. Sage is finally big enough to interact with her cousins Chloe (3) and Frank (18 months).

We always go for long walks and Sage had a blast watching Chloe and Frank run around. She and Frank are almost exactly a year apart in age and it's so neat to watch them together. While we were walking he decided to run up to Sage in the stroller and give her a big hug. So Sweet!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today is Sage's first St. Patrick's Day, so we're all decked out in green!

I love my little leprechaun!

Sage has been teething, so we decided to try giving her a teething biscuit to keep her mind off the discomfort.

They're these really great organic biscuits made with molasses, which means they're kind of messy!

She really likes them!

Mommy's Helper

Sage is so much fun and loves to help me around the house! She's really great at fluffing the clean laundry before it's folded.
She's really getting involved in everything going on around her, and helping mommy is no exception!

The Houston Zoo

This Monday, we went to Houston for a doctor's appointment, but when it was suddenly canceled, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and went to the zoo!

We took Sage along, not really expecting her to get much out of the day, but she had a blast! Her absolute favorite was watching the Meerkats run around. She just leaned over the edge of her stroller and talked to them.

Her Daddy had a great time showing her all the animals and telling her about them.

She refused to lay back in her stroller and insisted on sitting up the entire time, hanging over the edge to see everything and everyone passing by. This lasted all the way through to nap time, when she just laid her head down on the side and fell asleep, still refusing to lay back!

We had a great time on our first real outing as a family. We know there will be lots more to come!

Her Daddy's Girl

Sage has had a tough time teething and finds relief chewing on cold things. She gladly took Dustin's Pepsi bottle and, of course, I had to snap a picture. This better be the closests she gets to a soda for a long time!

Bath Time Fun

Since my back surgery, Dustin has taken over much of Sage's care, including her bath time. He's done such a great job and Sage has had a blast spending so much time with her Daddy!

Book Worm

Sage is really starting to like being read to and looking at books. She still attempts to chew on the edges, but now pats at the pictures and helps turn the pages. She seems to like to read them back to front though. We're having a blast teaching her new things!

6 Month Check-Up

Sage went for her 6 month check-up this week and it went great! She was so excited to get on the table after almost 2 hours in the carseat. She immediately grabbed up all the paper on the table and started climbing all over the place. When the nurse came in to take her measurements, she grabbed her growth chart right out of her file. Sage is 16 lbs 12 oz and 27 3/4 inches long. That puts her in the 70th percentile for her weight and 96th percentile for her length.

We went to lunch at the Olive Garden Garden and had a blast. Sage is a really good baby and it is no problem to take her out and about.

After a full day, she crashed in the car seat on the way home. She never let go of George the Giraffe though!

Six Months Old

Sage is officially half a year old! She's six months old and having a blast.
She is growing and changing every day and learning new things. There just isn't an inch or ounce about this baby girl we don't just love to pieces! She's working hard to learn to crawl. We can barely keep up with her at times! She's had her first bite of solid food and loved it. She's very vocal now and loves to squeal and scream, adding a new octave of joy to our ears! She's mastered grabbing and manuevering things with her hands (and sometimes her feet!) and easily communicates what she wants and needs. She's gotten really good at giving intentional hugs and kisses, which is the highlight of our day!

We love our sweet baby girl!

Back Blogged

I've uploaded some new posts and videos from when I was down with a bad back. Be sure to look back over the February blog posts to see some of the post that may not have been there before.
That's one thing I've learned this last month, babies don't stop growing, no matter what! Sage had really kept me going these last few weeks. Check out the posts to see why!
