Ready to Crawl

Sage is up on all fours and doing her best to get ready to move!

She's figured out how to move her knees forward, but not yet her hands, so she ends up falling forward most of the time.

She has, however, figured how to move backwards, which frustrates her to no end, especially when she backs into something and gets hung up.

It's been a blast watching her figure out how to make everything work. It's just a matter of time before she gets everything moving in one direction and then I'll really have my hands full!

First Bites

This weekend we decided to introduce Sage to solid foods!
We made up a little Rice Cereal with some of mommy's milk and she absolutely loved it! Her first bite confused her a little bit, but within minutes she was grabbing the spoon from my hand and shoving it into her wide-opened mouth.
She kept wiping her mouth with her bib! It was so cute. When the cereal was almost gone, she tried to drink the rest from the bowl!
She ate every bite and was ready for more. We have a girl with a very healthy appetite on our hands!

Back to Blogging

Well, I've been a bit behind on blogging. I had to have back surgery on the 11th and even the basic things have been a challenge, so blogging has been on the back burner, no pun intended!

Everyone has been so awesome in helping with Sage. For the 2 weeks I was down with a bad back, my mom and grandparents came to help with Sage while Dustin was at work.

Mom was in a four wheeler accident (she's OK now!) just before my surgery. Dustin's mom came to the rescue and stayed with Sage while Dustin and I went to Houston overnight for my surgery. She ended up staying for two weeks to help us out. Sage had an absolute blast with her and she was such a great help.

Sage loved a weekend visit from PeePaw too!

I will be healing over the next three months and unable to lift Sage. I'm sad because she's growing and changing so quickly and I feel like I'm missing out on holding her during the last part of her babyhood. This is so frustrating, but I'm so grateful to be out of pain. Dustin has been incredible in taking care of both of us. Sage is a trooper and has loved all the attention!

I know these months will breeze by and I'll be back up and running soon!

Happy Valentine's Day

It's Sage's first Valentine's Day and what's not to love?

She got a sweet dolly from Nanny for Valentine's and just loves it!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Fussy Face

Sage is really starting to teeth and it's obviously not a pleasant sensation for her. She is gumming on everything she can. When she doesn't have something to chew on, she rubs her gums together and makes this adorable fussy face. It's accompanied with with a "Neeeeee" sound that's just too cute! Bless her heart, we've got a long road of teething ahead, but she's still so cute, even with her fussy face.

Laughing

I couldn't figure out how to turn this video, but it's the sound you want to hear! It's from Feb. 2nd, but we're just getting it up.

Sage has had a blast with all the family coming to help since I've been down on my back. She's getting spoiled rotten and is loving every minute of it. Everyone has their own special ways of keeping her entertained. My mom likes to include our puppies. Mom was calling Dandi over in a funny voice and Sage thought it was SO funny! She had us all laughing!

Taking Care of Mommy

Well, Sage has had her hands full lately! I've been down for almost 2 weeks now with a serious back problem. We've discovered I have a herniated disc in my lower back. After a midnight trip to the ER last week, several trips to the doctor and hospital for tests, I've spent a lot of time flat on my back on the coffee table in the living room. We've pushed it up against the couch so Sage can play nearby. I am unable to hold her and care for her, but my mom and grandmothers have been so awesome coming to play with Sage. She's rotten to the core now! I miss my baby girl so much, but am so blessed to have such a loving family so willing to help.

She's been such a trooper! She has been so wonderful and patient with all of us. Dustin has been incredible! He has been taking care of both of us and has done a great job. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family!
