Beautiful Baby Shower

Tuesday evening I was blessed with receiving the most beautiful baby shower ever! It was at my friend, Phillis's house, hosted by 15 very special friends of mine. It was absolutely amazing! Everything was just magical and I'm still in awe. The decorations included the sage green and lavender colors Dustin and I picked out for our little girl and it had the very personal touch of butterflies, one of my favorite things. I felt so incredibly special. We received well over 100 gifts and are so grateful. It isn't the material possessions that meant so much, it was the people each gift represents. It's so humbling to know this many people are excited and already care so much about our baby girl.
Now there is a sea of bags and boxes filled with tiny things for this baby girl covering half of the floor in the nursery! It's just down right overwhelming! I just close the nursery door when I walk by because I just can't get over how many gifts there are! Hopefully I will get ambitious soon and put them all away! Below is a link to the pictures from the Baby Shower. They give a small insight to the evening, but the event was just magical! It is something I will certainly never forget!

Great Report!

Sage & I went in Tuesday morning for our 28 week check up and are doing great! I've lost a pound, but the doctor said that was fine because everything else looks great! That's puts me right a 3 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight. Little Sage is growing too! He says she's about 15 inches long now and weighs between 1.5 and 2 pounds herself!
I took the Gestational Diabetes test and must have passed with flying colors, because they told me they would contact me that afternoon if there was any question about my glucose levels. The test consists of drinking a sugary drink, waiting and hour, and then having your blood drawn. I was dreading the test because everyone told me how terrible the drink was. Apparently some people have drank something like a very large sweet Sunkist Soda. My drink was a very sweet fruit punch kool-aid and it was only 6 oz. I told them it was like Hummingbird Food! It went down and stayed down just fine. I'd do it again if I had too! What was really funny was the trip home. The sugar shocked my body and made me very jittery. Dustin was coming home that night and I also had a baby shower that evening. I was bouncing off the walls! It was SO funny! Sage got pretty active about 1 1/2 hours after drinking the drink and was jumping around kicking and having a great time. Bless her heart, sugar shock!
The doctor told me that everything looked so great I could skip my 30 week appointment if I wanted to! I said sure! (Gasoline is SO expensive that it was a no-brainer!) I'm so happy Sage is doing so well that he feels comfortable letting us go another 4 weeks before he sees us again! On with the Third Trimester!

While Dustin's Away...

Dustin's been on a fishing trip since Friday, so it's just been girls at the Boyd household! The girls and I have been keeping ourselves entertained. Sogno got girlied up with some pink bows to celebrate Baby Sage and posed for a picture. Dandi, who has short hair, got jealous and jumped up just after this picture was taken snatching one of the bows out of Sogno's fur and ran off with it. Hair bows are about to be a regular item at our house, so I hope Dandi gets over her jealous streak soon! Sogno will be so glad when I have a daughter's hair to fix and I leave her alone!

Blooming

Sage and I are really enjoying our time together. It has been so wonderful to be expecting during the Spring. Everything is so full of new life, including me! Just the two of us enjoying some flowers at my parent's house!

Day at the Waterpark

I took my youth group to Splash Town today and everyone had a great time. It was pretty hot today so getting into the cold water was a must. I'm usually on all the rides and slides with the kids, but not this time! I'm not as "active" as I use to be and pretty well limited myself to the lazy river and wave pool. I got lots of compliments on my maternity bathing suit and quite a few understanding smiles from several ladies. (This isn't the most flattering picture, is it?) The kids were absolutely wonderful to me. They helped me get into and out of my toob (because I got stuck easily) and helped me get in and out of pools with ladders that have very high first steps. Water parks really aren't designed for pregnant people, but we managed fine! I stayed covered in sunscreen and bought one of those refillable souvenir cups and drank TONS of water all day long. Sage loved all the noises in the lazy river. I think the wave pool was a little much for both of us though! I'm home with my slightly swollen feet up satisfied with a great day with my youth.

4 Years!

Today Dustin and I celebrate 4 years of a wonderful marriage! We were laughing considering 4 our special number. We dated for 4 years before we got married and have waited 4 years to start a family! We had a nice day despite some icky weather and just enjoyed an evening at home. We're both so busy all the time that just an evening together is a special treat! I have an amazing husband and can truly say he's my favorite person in the world! I love spending time with him. I'm so very blessed to know that our daughter will be coming into a very happy home.

26 Weeks

We're at 26 weeks now with only 14 more to go! As you can see, Sage is making plenty of room for herself in my ever-growing tummy. She's kicking and rolling around all over the place! Dustin loves to talk to her at night and feel for her feet. He can show you exactly how big her little feet are now. She loves to kick my left side, but manages to make her way all over the place. She's having a great time in her cozy little home!

Baby Wylie is Here!

I haven't posted in a bit because my hands have been full, of Baby Wylie! My best friend, Sara, delivered a beautiful baby girl this Monday. She was 6 lbs 6.2 oz. and is 19 1/2 inches long! She's got great big eyes and is so pretty. Sara did such a great job and had a wonderful delivery. I was SO blessed to be able to be a part of this joy and be with them at the hospital. I feel very honored and special that Dave and Sara shared their joy with me.
Fourteen weeks from now, Baby Sage will be here and have the opportunity to meet Wylie. Until then, her brothers and sister, Wilder (5), Whitley (3), and Wyatt (2) will do a great job keeping her entertained! Sara's a great mom and a wonderful example to me. We're SO excited Baby Wylie is here safe and sound. She's truly a bundle of joy!

Sleeping Comfortably

Just this week I received a WONDERFUL gift in the mail from my Aunt Jenny and Uncle David. It's called a Boppy Total Body Pillow. I slept with it last night and it's the first time I've slept all through the night in at least 3 weeks! It's SO comfortable. I'm already very attached and so very grateful for this thoughtful and incredibly useful gift! I'm off to climb into bed now and catch some comfortable Z's!

Belly Buddies

This is a picture of my best friend, Sara and I! Sara's baby girl is due any day now! We're SO excited that our little girls will be so close in age. Sara, a mom of three with one on the way, has been incredible to share the joy of expectant motherhood with. She's been incredibly supportive and SO much fun! It has been so great to be pregnant together, but I can hardly wait to meet Baby Wylie!

Cousins Cousins!

Sage will come into a world tested and approved by plenty of cousins! This Saturday we went to Huntsville to spend some time with Dustin's dad's family. We laughed because we realized that Sage will make 5 babies in a single year within this family! There are babies everywhere! Second cousins Boyd (5) and Brock (3) lead the way with first cousin Price (8 months) in 3rd. The twins, William and Wyatt (5 months) are next with Baby Ben (2 1/2 weeks) bringing up the rear. These 6 boys are all precious! (We haven't met Ben yet, but we already love him!) Sage will bring up the rear this August and be lucky number 7 and the first girl!

Samantha (4?) is the only second cousin on Dustin's mom's side and my mom's side has Chloe (2) and Frank (8 months). A new first cousin will be here in July when my nephew is born. Total, Sage is coming into the world with 2 first cousins and 8 second cousins. Whew! Dustin and I have always LOVED that we come from very close (and large) extended families and we're SO glad Sage will be able to enjoy all this family as well!
Pictured is Wyatt, Price, and William and below them is Baby Ben. I will post additional cousin pics when I get them! Isn't family great!?!?

Room for our Babies... The four legged ones!

Many of you know, we've had babies since we got married. They've just had four legs and are fuzzy! Sogno and Dandi are very much a part of our family and the first thing we knew we needed when we moved into this house was a sun room for them that they could call their own. We've put it off and put it off because they've done just fine roaming free in the house and sleeping in their twin size bed we keep in our large bedroom. However, I think they're going to get cramped once the two-legged baby gets here! The nursery has become off limits and Dandi is still trying to sneak into our bed at night after we fall asleep. We love our pups, but they tend to leave their toys and bones all over the house and Sogno leaves tumbleweeds of fur everywhere she goes. SO, we're adding a sun room onto the house and going to have a special place for them to play. I'm hoping it'll help control the fur situation and prevent the baby from picking up and chew-bone as a toy by mistake! We're hoping the room will be done in the next couple of weeks. We're really excited about getting ready for our growing family!

24 Weeks

We're at 24 weeks and on the grow! This little girl is NOT so little any more and loves to kick and play all day. She has learned to do somersaults and kicks all over the inside of my tummy! You don't even have to place your hand on my stomach anymore to feel her. You can just watch for her little foot to rise up and pop out! It's sometimes very obvious where she is and funny to watch her change positions.
Her Aunt Jen-Jen got to play with her tonight and Sage gave her a great big kick in the hand. It seems like just yesterday I would sit and watch my mom's stomach and wait to feel Jenny kick. Now she's a tall and beautiful 14-year-old talking to her niece-to-be!

"New" Clothes

One of the greatest things about living in a small town is that people really tend to help each other out! Limited resources and shopping opportunities make it difficult to accommodate a rapidly changing figure. Thank goodness for friends! One of the ladies I'm really close to at church brought me a bathing suit she thought I might be able to wear when I take my youth group to Splash Town at the end of May. We'll see how that goes! My best friend Sara had a bag of maternity clothes (that she had received our friend Stephanie in the fall) I got to dig through and find some much needed clothes! It's been great! We've kind of stair-stepped our pregnancies and been able to all rotate through maternity clothes! Stephanie has a sweet boy, Quin last August and Sara's due at the end of May with a little girl, Wiley. (Whom I can hardly wait to meet!) It's so great to have friends that are willing to lend advice (and clothes!) that always seem always to fit!
I look a little rough in the picture, but it's a Sunday night after church and 2 evening meetings. I'm thinking Sage is going to be a social butterfly because she kicked all through Sunday School, church, and then youth group tonight. She responds to voices and like to be "in" on the conversations. She'll be really familiar with the church surroundings, at least acoustically, when she gets here! Only 16 weeks to go!

Learned my Lesson...

Last night at church, I splurged and had a glass of ice tea with dinner. I've been avoiding it along with all other sources of caffeine like Diet Coke, (mmmmmm....) coffee, and large amounts of chocolate. Well, this was Red Diamond Sweet Tea, which as you know, is sugar water with a splash of caffeine and tea flavoring. So tasty! As we were cleaning up, one of the ladies insisted I help finish off the jug, so I took a refill and had a total of 2 glasses for the evening. I stopped by my mom's house on the way home while Dustin was still at dominoes, and she got quite a show! The baby kicked and stretched and really responded to mom's voice and hand on my tummy. By the time I got home, she was hyper!!! She was bouncing off the walls and having a blast kicking Dustin's hand. It was unreal! Then she kicked his hand twice so hard it hurt. I mean hurt! I hate to sound like a weenie, but this made me say ouch! I rolled on my side and tried to get her to calm down. She finally did and we went to sleep. I'm a bad mama and hyped up my baby on caffeine, but I learned my lesson. She's fine though because she's rolling around and dancing like her normal self. She's really responding to voices, especially Dustin's, my Mom, and Daddy's. She's really shy around my sister and hasn't kicked for her yet, but I'm sure she'll warm up soon! It's been so fun playing with her this week!
