16 months Old

Happy New Years!

Sage is 16 months old today!

This last month has been so much fun! Sage is becoming more and more active by the day and more and more verbal. She's showing more and more interest in using the potty, but we haven't mastered it completely just yet. Any day now! She's eating anything and everything in sight and growing like a weed! She loves to eat, especially fruit, and has a very healthy appetite. She burns off every calorie though running all over the place! She now has 11 teeth (4 molars and 7 front teeth) with more on the way.

We've attempted to say goodbye to the pacifier (which she only gets at bedtime and nap time) without much luck this month. After three nights of two hour bedtimes, we retracted that thought! With other big changes on their way, (such as a big girl bed!) we've decided that it wasn't a priority and she could hang on to it a little long if she wanted. She's very good about telling it "Bye-Bye" in the mornings and doesn't ask for it until she's in the bed. We are hoping to encourage her to give it up before Baby Brother arrives, but will wait until she's ready!

Sage is such a sweetheart and we've loved every moment we've had with her these past 16 months!

Christmas Suprise!

Our parents unwrapped a little suprise this morning!

Dustin and I are very excited to announce that our baby BOY, Solomon Edward, will be joining us in May.

We had an ultrasound early December and decided to keep our news a secret for Christmas. It hasn't been easy, considering how thrilled we are to be expecting a son.

Sweet boy was extremely active during the scan and we had trouble even getting a good picture. He kept his little face hidden and covered it with his hands, but he certainly wasn't shy about hiding anything else!

We got some other interesting news as well. He is measuring 2 weeks bigger than we expected, so my due date was moved from May 23rd to May 10th! Because of my back injury, we will be a repeat C-Section, so he will actually born at the very beginning of May. I left the appointment bewildered by the fact that I basically lost the entire month of May to prepare for this little cowboy.

We are SO excited to be adding a boy to our family!

Merry Christmas!

We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas with our growing family.

(The battery in our camera went out just as she reached her toys!)

Sage was very excited about seeing what Santa brought her!
A little plastic cell phone in her stocking was her favorite...

and matching set of keys!

She also got her very own chapstick, or "Lips" as she calls it.
She and Dustin enjoyed playing with the blocks Santa brought.

And there were lots of fun presents to open.

Merry Christmas from the Boyd family!

Love my Daddy!

The highlight of Sage's day is when she hears her Daddy's truck coming up our road. She stops whatever mischeif she is into, looks at me with excited eyes and yells "Daddy!" at the top of her lungs. She the runs toward the door or rushes around getting excited. She can hardly wait to give him a great big hug.

You think she's a Daddy's girl?

Doctor Check-ups

Dustin, Sage and I ventured out in the nasty fog today to make a trip to Nacogdoches for my 16 week OB appointment and Sage's 15 month pediatrician check up.

We started with my check up and it wet great! I've lost 1/2 a pound since my last appointment, so apparently Thanksgiving wasn't too damaging. I got another prescription for my wonderful anti-nausea medication as I'm still vomitting on almost a daily basis. Hopefully that will be gone soon and I can just enjoy these wonderful kicks and punches I am feeling almost constantly day and night.

Sage's appointment also went well. She weighs 23.5 lbs putting her in the 60th percentile. I can tell she has slimmed up and is losing that squishy baby look, but is turning into a pretty little girl! She's 33.5 inches tall and in the 97th percentile for her height. The doctor said she looks great!

We've had a fun family outing today, even if it was just to the doctors' offices!

15 Months Old

Wow! I can't believe Sage is 15 months old! She is growing and changing so quickly.

As she perfects her toddling and using her hands, her vocabulary is what has really taken off. She repeats sounds and words and has picked up about 2-3 new words a week over this last month. Apart from her clearly meaningful jibberish, she asks for things like water, "Wa-Wa"; shoes, "hoose"; and "bath". She LOVES to say "Bye-Bye" every time we go somewhere. She also calls out for "Da-Da" when she wants her Daddy. It's hilarious because she thinks he is the only one that can get her out of the tub! She also repeats the warning of "hot" and "no-no" when we want her to be careful of things.

Sage still signs "Please" with her hand to ask for things she would like handed to her, more of, or when she would would like to be picked up.

She can say eyes, nose, teeth, ears, hair, and belly button and point to them on herself, her doll, or anyone else. Belly button comes out "Be-Be" but it's so cute!

Speaking of "Be-Be", she also pats to my tummy and says "Baby". I think she is as excited about a new baby as we are!

The past 15 months have been a blast and every day is more and more fun!!!
