Brrr! It's Cold Outside

It was chilly this weekend so I bundled Sage up in a hat and jumpsuit. She prefers her onsies to play in, but I don't want my little one to get cold while we're out and about!
We still can't figure out what color her eyes will be! Anyone have a guess?

Baptismal Quilt

I wanted to be sure this made it on the blog. Sage received a beautiful hand-made quilt from the Upstairs Quilting Ministry at our church. It was presented to her at her baptism and is so special!

Busy Girl!

Sage and I had a very busy week last week! We've begun a new youth outreach project at our church. We open up our doors for kids to come in and get homework help from the many talented retired teachers in our congregation. Sage was a great tag-a-long and enjoyed watching some Algebra. She did fall asleep, but I think that was due to the time of day rather than subject matter! (I hope!) Wednesday she spent several hours with her Grammy so I could go to a meeting and handbell practice. Thursday night she hung out with Daddy while I went to a planning meeting for a big project I'm co-directing in January. Friday night she spent a very long evening with Daddy while I went to Lufkin with a handful of teens to a movie. Busy week for the both of us! Sage is a trooper and is so flexible. We have a blast!

These are So Neat!

Sage has discovered her hands! She's been staring at objects and reaching for them for a while now, but she's just discovered she has the wonderful little hands with her all the time. See thinks they are so cool. It's so neat to watch her discover things about herself!

Snuggly Sage

Sage is such a cuddle-bug! She loves to snuggle up to you and sleep. This is her favorite place for a nap! (I'm getting some work done on the computer while she snoozes!)

She's also a silly girl! Her daddy stuck her hat on sideways after a bath the other night and we were all three laughing. We're having way too much fun with this Baby Girl!

Talking Talking Talking

Sage has discovered her voice! She spends much of her awake time talking to anyone or anything around her. Here's a video of her first thing in the morning. (She's still in her PJs in the bed!) That's when she loves to tell me all about her night!

Giggling

Sage loves to laugh and Aunt Jen Jen can really get her giggling!
Isn't she funny?

Having Fun with Family

We had a blast Thursday night at the Golden Pine. My mom cooked a yummy spaghetti dinner and Sage had a blast playing with her Aunt Jen-Jen!

Then she got all tuckered out and crashed with Paw Paw in his big chair.
We had a great time!

The Best Birthday Present

Thursday I celebrated my first birthday as a mommy! It's funny, but I have a whole new perspective for what my mom and dad were doing on this day several years ago.

I feel so blessed to have such an amazing family and a day with Sage is the best gift I've ever received.

2 Month Check-Up

Sage, Grammy, and I made the trip to the pediatrician today for her 2 month appointment. The last week she's had quite a bit of tummy troubles, but with an increase in the dosage of her reflux medication, she's already doing better!

My little girl is growing like a weed! See how long she is all stretched out and silly? She weighs 11 lbs, 14 oz and is 24.5 inches long. That puts her in the 85% for her weight and 96% for her length. We will keep her on her reflux medications until her symptoms lessen. I'm so grateful she's responding so well to the treatment. The doctor says she looks great and is a happy and healthy 2 month old!

Meeting Price

This weekend, Sage got to meet her cousin Price! These two are "Birthday Buddies." Sage was born on Price's 1st Birthday! They are exactly a year apart. Kristy, Lee, Dustin and I know there is SO much fun ahead between these two!

Sage's Baptism

This Sunday we celebrated an incredible moment in Sage's life. She was baptised and presented to the church as a child of God. I cannot express how incredible the ceremony was for me. It was so very special to witness. I may not have been awake to witness her birth into this world, but to stand at the altar of our church and present her as God's child was the most amazing moment in my life. God gave up His only Son so that my daughter may have eternal life. His sacrifice has never meant more to me than it did the moment I watched the water touch her head. I feel such an awesome responsibility to raise her in Christian love, not only as a parent, but as a member of His Kingdom. I cannot be more humbled by or grateful for this assignment!

Sage performed beautifully! She was great during the first part of service. Then, just in time for the baptism, she began to cry a little bit. By the time I handed her to Pastor Tommy, she was wailing! I couldn't help but laugh because she was sharing her little temper with the whole congregation. As soon as the baptismal waters touched her head, she got quiet. It's as if she knew she was experiencing something holy! Our pastor's wife, Bethany, said she was crying because she was trying to tell us, "Hurry up and Baptise Me!" I thought that was SO cute! She was then presented to the church and just looked around at everyone, as content as could be. Her response was truly memorable. She was definitely an active participant.

We celebrated this amazing day with our incredible congregation. Family drove in from all over to share in our joy. We all went to lunch afterwards and then had a great visit at our home. The entire day was so very special.

There hasn't been a moment that I haven't considered Sage a gift from God. From the moment she was conceived to the moment I kiss her goodnight each evening, I am so humbled at His creation. I am so blessed by the life of Baby Sage.

Toys

Dustin and I finally got around to pulling out some of Sage's toys and she couldn't be happier! I wasn't sure when babies start to "play" but she has a blast! She really likes her little stuffed horse that rattles. Notice how she has it gripped by the tail with her right hand? She also has several little musical bugs that have crinkly wings and their cheeks light up and they play when you press their tummy. She's having a blast playing with all her toys. It's so neat to watch her toss them about and smile!

Silly Girl

Sage and I have a pretty predictable morning routine. She usually wakes me up cooing and smiling. We talk for a little bit, I feed her, and we snuggle. Then it's time to get ready for the day! I get her all cleaned up and dressed and we have fun picking out what to wear. Then it's time for me to get ready. I put Sage in her bouncer and she usually stays entertained long enough for me to get through drying my hair. Well, Wednesday, she was playing and got quiet. (Her bouncer is motion activated.) So, I stuck my head out of the shower and sure enough, she was asleep! They funny thing is, she had pulled her little burp cloth over her head to shut out the light! By the time I got the camera, she had dropped her arms and turned her head, but it was so funny!

Red, White and Blue

Sage is all decked out for Election Day! We decided to dress in red, white, and blue today. Grammy came and hung out with Baby Sage while I went to town to vote.

On another note, this outfit is a 3-6 month size! It's a little big, but it fits, especially in the length. She's definitely still in 0-3 months in most brands, but isn't completely swallowed by some 3-6's. She's flying through her tiny little wardrobe!

Daddy-Daughter Day

Dustin and Sage spend their Sundays together while I'm at work. This Sunday, I came home to this!

Sage loves her Daddy! He's so incredible with her and can rock her to sleep like no one else. They definitely have a special bond and it's so incredible to watch them together. I'm so blessed!

Baby Buddies

My best friend, Sara, and I are having a blast with our baby girls! Wylie is just 3 months older than Sage. It is so much fun to share mommy-hood with my best friend!

And the Little One Said "Roll Over, Roll Over"

Sage is rolling over! I am holding her back at the beginning so Dustin could get it on film, but she does it completely on her own. We'll post another video as soon as we can catch her on camera. I'm so excited our little girl is rolling over!

Two Months Old

Baby Sage is 2 months old! Dustin and I have had a blast with this baby girl, and each moment has been an incredible blessing. She's changing every day. She now looks around while laying on her tummy and follows moving objects all over the room. She sleeps for about 7 hours at a time most nights and is awake for much of the afternoon an early evening. She squeals and coos all the time! Today she made Dustin and I tear up when she laughed out loud for the first time as we all played on a pallet on the floor. We have so much fun with our daughter and can't imagine life without her!
