Rolling all the way Over!

Sage has been rolling from her back to her front for a little over a week now. I finally caught it on film! It's so funny because I'll put her on the pallet, walk away, and come back 2 minutes later to find her 4 feet from where I left her! She just rolls over and over until she gets where she wants to be.

She's also pushing up and trying to coordinate her arms and legs to crawl. She can scoot in reverse, but that just puts her further away from the toy or direction she wants to go, so it's funny to watch her get frustrated. I know she'll be crawling all too soon and I'll have my hands full!

Big Girl

Sage wants so badly to do so many "Big Girl" things! She has been watching me eat and drink for weeks now and has decided she should be able to eat and drink too! She is constantly grabbing food off my plate and trying to intercept my water glass.
She's drinking water from a cup.

She decided that gnawing on celery feels good on her gums.

Though she can't quite sit up on her own, we still prop her up and let her play!

She just won't stay my little baby girl! She's having a blast getting bigger though.
I took her to a new pediatrician last week for her reflux because she wasn't holding much down. The doctor recommended new times to give her medication to her and it's worked great! He said about 4-6 months of age, reflux is at its worst, so no solids until 6 months. (Weighing at at 14 lbs, 2 oz, Sage is in the 95 percentile, so exclusively nursing is doing her just fine.) We'll see if she'll wait another 2 months before she starts taking food right out of our hands!

A Merry Christmas

Sage's first Christmas was a blast! She spent time with lots of family and had a great time doing all the holiday things.
Opening presents on Christmas Eve at Nana's:
Opening presents on Christmas morning at Grammy's house:

Opening presents at home celebrating with Dustin's family.

Sage didn't take a break during the holiday season. She has continued to grow and learn all kinds of new things.
Sage has mastered rolling over and now is determined to scoot or crawl. She tries her best each time she's on the floor to get where she wants to go!

PawPaw let her try her first peppermint stick! She really liked it!

Sage has figured out PawPaw has a pocket and keeps all kinds of fun things in there!
Sage has had a blast spending time with her cousin Rylan. (Adam, Liz and Rylan are visiting from West Virginia.) They just talk to each other and have great time playing.

Merry Christmas!

It's Baby Sage's first Christmas and we're celebrating! It was a year ago Christmas Eve that Dustin and I found out this little miracle was going to make us a family. What a difference a year can make!

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Busy Week!

This has been a busy week for Baby Sage! On Monday night we went to Lufkin for my Mary Kay Christmas Party. Sage had a blast meeting all the pink ladies! True to her daily routine, she fell asleep about 8pm and slept though all the pictures. We had a great time though!

Tuesday we spent some time at church and Sage hung out with Grammy while I went a meeting. Wednesday wasn't much fun because Sage's reflux was really bad and we spent the day covered in spit up. No fun.
Thursday, I spent some time at the Jr. High and Sage went to the Christmas party at my Dad's office. She had a blast re-arranging their Christmas tree!

Baby is SO Big!

I just cannot believe how quickly my baby girl is growing and changing!
She's gotten really good at holding onto her bottles. She tries to take them from Dustin, but they're glass and too heavy for her to hold on her own just yet.

She's no longer content with just sitting in her bouncer. She wants to play! She has to stay still and upright after eating, so I rigged this contraption for her. It's a car toy strapped to the top of her play gym that's placed over her bouncer.

She's grabbing everything with both hands and putting it in her mouth. She's sitting in her high chair hording her toys and chewing on her teether. (These all started on her tray!)

She's just about too long for her bassinet, so she's been sleeping in our bed for most of the night. I call her Goldi-Locks in the morning. She loves it!
She's sitting up with a little support and loves it! This is her preferred position. Her torso is getting so strong!
It's all just happening so fast! We can barely keep up, but we're having a blast with each moment!

Happy Birthday Grammy!

Friday was my mom's birthday, so all the girls went to lunch! Sage had a blast being included. She loves her Grammy!

Snow!

It's snowing! I can't remember the last time we had snow here. Only in Southeast Texas can you blog about a Hurricane and then 3 months later upload pictures of snow! See why I love living here? Never a dull moment!

We bundled up Baby Sage and took her out to see it. (For like 2 seconds! I didn't want her to get too cold!) Then, after she went to bed, Dustin and I had a blast playing.

Our dog Sogno thinks it's the neatest thing ever. I kept telling Dustin that I hope it happens again in a few years so Sage can really enjoy it!

Already into Mischief

Sage is a mess! She's decided that the curtains hanging by her changing table need to be re-arranged each time I change her diaper. I constantly take them out of her hands and replace them with a toy, but she throws the toy to the floor and reaches back for the curtains! She's a stinker!

Advent

Sage went to church with us this Sunday. We were chosen as the family to light the Second Advent Candle at the beginning of service. It was so very special!

Sage did GREAT during church! She looked at all the Christmas decorations and watched the Handbell Choir perform with such amazement. Everything is so much more magical with a baby's face to watch take it all in. It makes me stop and appreciate all the little things I would have never noticed! She though Pastor Tommy was talking just to her and tried to talk right back to him. When she got a little tired, my friend Bethany made funny faces at her and she thought that was the funniest thing ever! As soon as cold and flu season is over, I'm definitely up to taking her back for service. She had a blast!

Bottoms Up!

Sage LOVES her tummy time, especially since we've put a rug in our living room. (Thanks MeeMaw and PeePaw!) We can play all over the place with her now! She's gotten really good at pushing up on her hands and on her legs, but just hasn't mastered getting both up at the same time with her tummy off the floor. We're having so much fun!

New Pacifier

You may have noticed, Sage has switched to a new pacifier. We had her on the Playtex Ortho Pros for a little while, but it didn't work well with nursing, so we switched her back to her Soothies. The Soothies are round and roll everywhere when they hit the floor. There's also no way to attach a pacifier string, so after some research, I discovered these wonderful pacifiers called GumDrops. Sage loves them!

Happy Birthday Papaw and PawPaw!

Thursday night we went to Mom and Dad's to celebrate birthdays! Sage's PawPaw and Papaw share a birthday and had a great time visiting with everyone, especially the birthday boys!

Accesorize Baby!

It's just amazing all the great things they have on the market for babies. I have a blast "accessorizing" Sage for a fun day at home!

She's wearing her pink diaper with a long-sleeve onsie. Then her Baby Legs keep her legs warm and her Trumpett Ballerina socks keep her toes toasty. A bib is a necessity, so it might as well match and her pacifier string keeps her pacifier handy. Put is all together and you get a happy and comfy Sage!

Three Months Old

Baby Sage is 3 months old! There are only 30 days in November, so on the first, we claimed her 3-month birthday! It seems like time has flown by because she's changed SO much but then it also seems like she's been in my life forever because I can't really imagine what life would be like without the Sage!

We don't visit the pediatrician this month, so we're guessing her weight is right around 14 lbs, (that's on our bathroom scale at home) and we eyeball her length to be about 26 inches. She's growing so fast and is flying through her 3-6 month clothes already!

She's learning all kinds of things! She's recently learned to reach for and grab things. She can take her pacifier out of her mouth and put it back in. She talks ALL the time and grins every time I look at her. She loves to "chew" on her fingers and has recently discovered her delicious thumb (if she can sneak it in there before I can take it out and replace it with a pacifier). Her head is really stable and she looks all around. She loves to "sit" in our laps and when propped up on her own, is constantly doing tummy crunches trying to pull herself into a sitting position. She "swims" during tummy time coordinating her leg and arm movements and can squirm around on her pallets enough to get to a desired toy. She can push up on her arms or her legs, but just not both at the same time yet!

We love our Sweet Baby Girl!

Taking Control

Well, I knew it was going to happen sooner or later, but Sage has figured out she has hands and knows how to use them! This is a picture of Sage reaching for someone's Diet Coke at Thanksgiving. She had a blast when my Cousin Courtney's husband, Brian introduced her to an empty plastic drinking cup. She's grabbing EVERYTHING! Plates off the dinner table, her pacifier, (She's figured out how to take it out of her mouth and pop it back in all on her own.) her bib, her clothes, my clothes, jewelry, hair, noses, lips... She holds her clean diaper while I'm changing her. Her favorite thing to hold and play with is Ed, her little stuffed horse. Of course, into the mouth he goes, along with everything else she manages to get her hands on. It's amazing to watch her learning to play!

Tickle Me Sage

Sage LOVES to laugh. Though she isn't very ticklish yet, she loves to anticipate being tickled! It's really funny! She's so much fun!

Dustin shot this video of us a few weeks ago. I'm still figuring out how to compress files and upload them! Sorry for the delay!
